People often ask me how I became interested in calligraphy. As a child I had a relative who wrote in calligraphy as a hobby - I was always fascinated! I was introduced to it again in junior high school when we wrote poems in calligraphy for an art class. I picked it up a third time to address my own wedding invitations. After that I did a few weddings for friends and family, but it was not until after I had my first son and I stopped teaching that it became a business. I worked with a local printing press for a while, and once brides began to pass my name around wedding message boards business really picked up. It's been 10 years and I still don't advertise - all of my business comes through word of mouth and the wonderful brides who continue to pass my name along!!
Teresa decided to go with white ink on black paper, which is such a fun color combination to work in! The contrast is so clean between the colors, and it is so crisp and fresh looking! (The lettering style is the original fine flourished script...)
I might be a little partial, but I LOVE them!
