People often ask me how I became interested in calligraphy. As a child I had a relative who wrote in calligraphy as a hobby - I was always fascinated! I was introduced to it again in junior high school when we wrote poems in calligraphy for an art class. I picked it up a third time to address my own wedding invitations. After that I did a few weddings for friends and family, but it was not until after I had my first son and I stopped teaching that it became a business. I worked with a local printing press for a while, and once brides began to pass my name around wedding message boards business really picked up. It's been 10 years and I still don't advertise - all of my business comes through word of mouth and the wonderful brides who continue to pass my name along!!
Okay - I know - I have taken forever to update! My own sister got married in November, and then we got a new puppy, and the holidays, and the ice.... you get the idea! Here is just a sample of what I've been working on the past few months...
